The Greenlee Meadow Collection is about the natural richness and complexity, attracting birds, bees and butterflies into the garden. They are better for the environment, because you don’t have to fertilize, over-water or relentlessly mow them.  Meadows are animated, full of natural movement of wind and light.  And importantly, they demand less of your time to maintain while giving you all these benefits.

FEATURED PLANTS FROM THE
GREENLEE MEADOW COLLECTION

Leymus triticoides ‘Lagunita’

Leymus triticoides “Lagunita’ is clearly a drought-tolerant native grass. Established plantings will survive without summer water and have stayed green well into August without irrigation, depending on annual rainfall.

Eragrostis intermedia
‘Madera Creek’

The best feature of Plains Lovegrass is its airy seed heads that create a cloud of transparent spikelets above the foliage. Use it in masses for a spectacular effect. It’s a fast growing, drought-tolerant mid-sized bunchgrass about 2 feet tall that’s native to the western United States including California.

Poa cita

A perfect replacement for the thuggish Mexican Feather Grass, Nessella tenuissima. Unlike Feather Grass, Golden Tussock Grass doesn’t re-seed on its own where it’s not wanted or ever get a bad-hair day.
