Tour an ePlant

What is an ePlant?

An ePlant is our name for an electronic plant record. Each ePlant includes a quick overview, several high resolution images, and complete plant details. Let’s take a look at all the different elements of an ePlant – join our tour of an ePlant!

To access and ePlant, first visit the plant search page by clicking on “Plants” then “Plant Search” from the main menu.

Then, click on any plant from the list or on any image to open an ePlant.

Tour an ePlant

This will open the ePlant. Here is what it looks like:

Across the top is the botanical name and common name. Located just below are a series of tabs you can click on. Let’s take a closer look.

The first option is “Overview”. This includes general information about the plant and a single image – perfect when you just want to verify basic data or remind yourself what a plant variety looks like.

The second tab is called “Images”.  This includes multiple high resolution images of the plant. You can click on any of the images to see them at a very large size. The great part about seeing so many images is that you get a true feel for how the plant will look. The best part is that every single characteristic you see listed can be used as a filter when you are searching for plants!

The last tab is called “Details” and truly includes all information about the plant. You can review anything from plant size to tolerances, soil pH to leaf characteristics.

ePlant Tools

On the left sidebar of any ePlant are a variety of tools you can utilize.

If you want to add this plant to any project or palette, simply select particular palette or project name from the pull down arrow and click “Add to Project” or “Add to Palette” button located just below.

There are additional options to edit the plant information (or add images) or share the ePlant with someone else. For complete details on how to edit an ePlant, please read the training titled “Editing your ePlant”.
