Founded in Rougemont, North Carolina in 1986, Hoffman Nursery specializes in ornamental and native grass liners for the wholesale trade. They grow over 140 species and cultivars of grasses, sedges, and grasslike plants, and ship to wholesale customers across North America. Since its founding, the nursery has expanded to include a state-of-the-art greenhouse and production facility and over 60 cold frames and hot houses.

Muhlenbergia capillaris

Pink Muhly Grass grows in a mound with erect, blue-green foliage until September when spectacular, billowing pink seed heads form a cotton-candy crown.

Andropogon ternarius
‘Black Mountain’

‘Black Mountain’ is a native grass that grows  3’ or under and has flowering bluish-green stems and develop reddish hues later in summer.

Sporobolus heterolepis

Prairie Dropseed is perhaps the most ornamental of the native prairie grasses. It grows in a clumping shape with deep green narrow leaves that arch downward.
