About this Garden:
Garden of the Week visits a California Native garden done in Ventura County by Lisa Burton of Nature by Design. The property transformation is for both the front and back yards. The client is a college Biology professor who wanted to have a strong California native theme. The back yard features a waterfall and stream bed that double as a rain garden. Lined with clarkia and achillea, sage and fescue. It is an incredible spring display that creates the sensation of a walk in the wilderness. A startlingly beautiful Palo Verde anchors the design and leaves room to view Mt. Boney in the Santa Monica Mountains in the back ground.
